Harpenden House, (76 rooms) description: Following a GBP 2.5 million refurbishment in 2007/8, the Harpenden House Hotel now features fully modernised conference and event rooms; the Garden Suite and the Evergreen Room. All of the 76 bedrooms were also refurbished to provide modern, comfortable facilities. In the main house, the individual feature rooms include air conditioning. Dramatic changes took place to the Georgian Restaurant, Welcome Lounge and bar areas, to enhance their original charm and bring both modern comfort and character.
The majority of rooms and meeting rooms are adjacent to the main house in the Garden Courtyard and Hertfordshire wing.
Relax in this former 18th Century Georgian Convent School, situated in the picturesque town of Harpenden. This attractive Grade II listed building overlooks East Common, accessible to London, St. Albans and Luton airport.
The hotel gardens are particularly attractive, while stylish public areas include a restaurant with an impressive decorative ceiling. Some bedrooms and a large suite are located in the original house although most of the accommodation is in a more recent annexe.
Our hotel is located with easy access to the M25 motorway network, just within 25 minutes of Central London, with easy access from the M1 junctions 9 and 10 or by direct train to Kings Cross.

By Car:
From the north:
- Take the M1.
- Exit at junction 10.
- Follow the A1081 to Harpenden (approximately 5 miles).
- Go straight on at the mini roundabout through town centre.
- Go over the next mini roundabout.
- Turn left at the next mini roundabout.
- The hotel is 200 yards on the left.
From the south:
- Take the M1.
- Exit at junction 9.
- Take the A5183, signposted St. Albans.
- Turn left to Harpenden on the B487.
- At the next roundabout, turn left onto the A1081.
- Turn right at the next roundabout and the hotel is 180 metres on your left.
COMMENTS
Reservations where 6 or more rooms under the same name for the same arrival date will be classed as a group booking and may require a deposit or full prepayment before the date of arrival.
The Harpenden House Hotel is now completely non-smoking.
